Phase 2 (COMPLETED)

Demolition and Reconstruction of Runway 07/25 - Taxiway 'E' - Taxiway 'F'

Estimated Timeframe (175 days)

Start Date: 02-17-2025

Updates

02-18-2025: Work began on the milling process for Runway 07/25. This will be accomplished with two 8" milling passes on the runway to remove the existing asphalt and base material.

03-31-2025: Work continues on the milling of Runway 07/25, Taxiway 'E', and Taxiway 'F'. Base material is currently being added and compacted in areas where milling work has been completed. The contractor is currently on schedule with this phase of the project.

06-02-2025: The paving for the first layer of asphalt base material began mid-last week. Paving of Runway 07/25, Taxiway 'E', and Taxiway 'F' will continue for the next few weeks, with the paving of Runway 07/25 commencing first. After the first layer of base material is completed on the runway, work will begin on Taxiway 'E' and Taxiway 'F'.

06-30-2025: The majority of the first layer of base material has been paved on Runway 07/25, Taxiway 'E', and Taxiway 'F'. The paving of the second layer of base material is scheduled to begin this week, starting on Runway 07/25.

08-12-2025: Paving work for Runway 07/25, Taxiway ‘E’, and Taxiway ‘F’ has been completed. These surfaces will need thirty days before paint can be applied to avoid organic compounds staining the paint. Currently, grading work is being completed in the dirt areas around the newly paved surfaces, and new airfield lighting is being installed. Grooving of the runway is scheduled to take place beginning the week of the 18th. Painting is scheduled for the week of September 15th.

09-16-25: The paint contractor for the project arrived on site this morning and has begun the marking layout process. This process is expected to take two days, with painting starting on Thursday.

09-22-25: Runway 07/25 was reopened this afternoon as construction is substantially completed. Minor work is still required; however, it does not prevent the runway from being opened and will be completed while the runway is open or at a later stage of the project.

Phase 3 (COMPLETED)

Demolition and Reconstruction of Taxiway 'A' - Taxiway 'B'

Estimated Timeframe (98 days)

Updates

03-31-2025: Phase 3 of the project was initiated earlier this month and has been integrated into Phase 2. The removal of the existing asphalt will be the first step, followed by the dirt work to relocate portions of Taxiway 'A' and Taxiway 'B', as their geometry will change during this project.

08-12-2025: Paving work for Taxiway ‘A’ and Taxiway ‘B’ has been completed. These surfaces will need thirty days before paint can be applied to avoid organic compounds staining the paint. Currently, grading work is being done in the dirt areas around the newly paved surfaces. Painting is scheduled for the week of September 15th.

09-16-25: The paint contractor for the project arrived on site this morning and has begun the marking layout process. This process is expected to take two days, with painting starting on Thursday.

09-22-25: Taxiways ‘A’, ‘E’, and ‘F’ were reopened this afternoon as construction is substantially completed. Minor work is still required; however, it does not prevent the taxiways from being opened and will be completed while the taxiways are open or at a later stage of the project.

Phase 4 (IN PROGRESS)

Demolition and Reconstruction of South FBO Apron - Taxiway 'C' - Taxiway 'D' - Runway 16/34

Estimated Timeframe (63 days)

Start Date: 09-22-25

Updates

09-23-25: Phase 4 began yesterday afternoon after Runway 07/25 was reopened. To maintain access to the B A S I N hangars during this phase, it has been split into two subphases, Phase 4A and Phase 4B. Phase 4A will consist of the demolition and reconstruction of Taxiway 'C', the curved portion of Taxiway 'D', and the FBO Apron. The milling of the taxiways began this morning, and the milling of the FBO Apron will begin on Monday, October 6th, to facilitate a pancake breakfast being held by Basin Aviation.

During Phase 4A, aircraft needing to access the B A S I N hangars will need to utilize Runway 16/34 and Taxiway 'D' to access the ramp via a temporary taxiway. Aircraft needing to access the North Apron will need to utilize Runway 07/25 and Taxiway 'A'. Please see the attached map for assistance. Phase 4A Map

10-06-25: Milling work on the curved portion of Taxiway 'D' has been completed, and subbase material is being brought in. The milling of the FBO Apron and Taxiway 'C' will begin on Wednesday. Grass seed has also been applied alongside all of the Phase 2 and Phase 3 surfaces.

10-27-25: The contractor is currently working on compacting the new subbase material for the curved portion of Taxiway 'D' and the FBO Apron. Once the subbase material is complete, we will apply the asphalt base, followed by the top layers of asphalt. We anticipate that Phase 4A will be completed in mid-November.

11-11-25: Paving of asphalt base material began today. This portion of paving is expected to be completed by early next week. Once the base layers of asphalt are completed, the contractor will start paving the final layers of asphalt and installing new tie-downs along the FBO Apron.

Phase 5 (UPCOMING)
