TSA Guidelines
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is a federal agency responsible for security at airports across the United States. TSA officers screen passengers and baggage to ensure the safety of all travelers. Understanding TSA procedures before you arrive at Midland International Air & Space Port can help make your screening experience faster and smoother.
What to Expect at Security
All passengers and carry-on baggage must pass through TSA security screening before entering the gate area. Be prepared to:
Show Valid ID
Present a valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or other accepted ID) along with your boarding pass.
Remove Electronics
Laptops, tablets, and large electronics must be removed from your bag and placed in a separate bin for X-ray screening.
Follow the 3-1-1 Rule
Liquids, gels, and aerosols must be in containers of 3.4 ounces (100ml) or less, all fitting in one quart-sized clear plastic bag.
Prepare for Screening
Remove shoes, belts, and jackets. Empty your pockets of keys, coins, and phones before walking through the scanner.
Prohibited Items
Certain items are not allowed through the security checkpoint or in carry-on baggage. Common prohibited items include:

Speed Through Security
TSA PreCheck members enjoy expedited screening at Midland International Air & Space Port. Benefits include keeping on your shoes, belt, and light jacket, leaving laptops and liquids in your bag, and accessing a dedicated screening lane.
Membership costs $78 for five years. Apply online at tsa.gov/precheck.
Traveling With Special Items
Medications
Prescription and over-the-counter medications are allowed. Liquid medications over 3.4 oz are permitted but must be declared at the checkpoint.
Traveling With Children
Baby formula, breast milk, and juice for infants are allowed in reasonable quantities. Inform the officer at the start of screening.
Passengers With Disabilities

Service Animals
Service animals accompany their handlers through the screening process. Be prepared for additional screening of the animal.
