Authorized Signer,
Due to security regulations, the Midland International Air & Space Port is required to issue a new series of badges every two (2) years. Each badge holder will need to obtain a new ‘C’ series badge by completing a new typed Airport Security Identification Badge Application and submitting the application along with the correct I-9 documentation for all badge applicants. Applications where the applicant information, the first page of the application, is handwritten will not be accepted. We have computer terminals in Airport Operations to type your application sheets. Please remember each badge holder is required to submit at least two (2) forms of ID, and some may be required to submit three (3) forms of ID. It is imperative that all badges are surrendered to Airport Operations and reissued no later than October 31, 2021. At midnight on October 31, 2021, all ‘W’ series badges will be deactivated. All badges that have not been upgraded to the new ‘C’ series by November 30, 2021, will be required to start the badging process over.
Additionally, federal regulations require certain badge holders to undergo a recurrent Criminal History Record Check (CHRC). Blue, Red, and Yellow badge holders will be required to undergo a recurrent CHRC check. This recurrent check will coincide with the biennial badge reissue and will not interrupt access. Some staff may be required to have their fingerprints taken if the Airport does not currently have them on file. Companies that are impacted by this will receive additional information on this process.
The badging office will begin issuing the ‘C’ series badges on September 30, 2021, at 7 AM.
Also, during this time we will be conducting our annual key audit for individuals who currently hold keys that have access to the airport. Please bring your keys with you to the Badging Office so we can verify them during the badge renewal process.
Finally, a new ‘C’ series Security Agreement will be required for each company/private pilot operating at Midland International Air & Space Port. If you are not a leaseholder with the City of Midland Department of Airports you must have an organization that is a leaseholder sponsor your security agreement. For instance, if you operate out of a Signature hangar you will need to have a Signature Authorized Signer sponsor your security agreement. Additionally, regulations require all individuals that are to be authorized signers for a company complete yearly training specific to their position as an Authorized Signer. Those who have not completed this training before signing for new badges will cause those individuals seeking renewal to be refused. This training will be held every Thursday at 11 AM and 8 PM in the Airport Operations office. All forms required for the renewal can be found on the airport website https://www.flymaf.com/184/Badging-Office Please note that all applicant information must now be typed.
If you have any questions pertaining to this matter please reference the FAQ section below or feel free to contact the Airport Badging Office at 432-560-2200, extension 3006.
