Have you ever wondered how emergency responders prepare for a real emergency? Well this is your chance. The Federal Aviation Administration requires the City of Midland to practice the emergency response to an aircraft accident every three years.
In order to simulate the emergency, volunteers are required to play the roles of victims and family members. The exercise will require that some volunteers are assessed and transported to area medical facilities, family reunification locations, and the Terminal Building. The exercise will be completed when all volunteers have returned to the Airport. Lunch will be provided to volunteers and emergency personnel. A raffle for door prizes will also be conducted at the conclusion of the exercise to thank all the volunteers for their time and assistance in keeping the Airport and the community ready. All volunteers should attend one of three meetings held before the exercise. Meeting notifications will be sent by email on April 23th, 2018.
